10月に始まったフジテレビのドラマ「リアル・クローズ」第3話。福助が協力したこの番組で、登場人物が同社のストッキングをはいて現れた瞬間、ツイッターで福助の“つぶやき”が流れた。「天野絹江（香里奈さん）が今はかれていたものは、この商品です！」というメッセージと商品案内をリンクさせた。
反響は大きく、その日の売り上げは通常の2倍に増えた。だが翌日からはまた元の水準に戻ってしまった。「効果があることは分かったが、まだ試行錯誤の段階。ツイッターの特性を生かした販売戦略を考えたい」と岡田好孝マーケティング部部長は言う。
即時性、親しみやすさ、波及力などツイッターが持つ潜在力は大きい。だが手間暇を惜しんで消費者の期待を裏切れば、逆効果になるリスクもある。クラウドが生んだ新メディアをどう使いこなすか、企業の対応力が問われている。
